Cities and elections
Founding a city with three players, the Mayor, residency, city flags and towers, taxes, the Trade Hub, and the monthly vote.
Cities are places. They are independent of kingdoms — you can belong to both — and their land is grey on everyone's map.
Founding
A City Hall rises in three phases on completely unclaimed land, each phase paid by a different player. The first becomes Mayor; all three are Founders forever and receive a Key to the City that takes them home for free. Cities are named after where they stand.
Residency
Build a City House on any city's land and you are a resident. Demolish it to leave. Cities can never refuse a resident or kick one.
What the Mayor does
- Chains city flags outward and upgrades them once into City Watch Towers, which fire on the city's enemies.
- Sets the hunting tax on kills made on city land.
- Builds the Trade Hub and Mayor-only buildings.
- Declares friends and enemies for the city.
Money
The city treasury holds hunt tax and the fixed cut of every Trade Hub sale.
Elections
Every resident may vote for any resident, and may change the vote at any time during the month. At midnight UTC on the first of each month the votes are counted and the winner takes office; a tie goes to whoever was voted for first, and a month with no votes keeps the incumbent.
If the Hall falls
Everything falls with it: flags unclaim, houses and the hub self-raze and spill, residencies end.
