PvP, death and gravestones
Who may attack whom, the one free swing, what you drop when you die, and the stone that marks the spot.
Player-versus-player fighting is open almost everywhere outdoors — never inside buildings — but it runs on consent.
Consent
- A red status dot is consent. Two red players may fight freely.
- Striking a green player lands exactly one swing, then locks you out of that person for a while — unless they strike back, which opens a full fight.
- Attacking someone marks you both as enemies.
Death
Dying to a creature costs you nothing. Dying to a player costs you: a share of your backpacks drops where you fell, followed by random items until what is left fits your smaller bag. Equipped gear and currency never drop. The pile lasts a couple of hours for anyone to take.
Gravestones
A gravestone appears where a player was killed by another player, naming both, and stands for a couple of hours. It is a monument, not a chest.
Property crime
Attacking or burning another player's flag or building, striking their companion, or raiding their harvester makes you enemies with them — and that enmity has teeth: enemies are locked out of each other's flags until they make peace.
Sanctuary
Inside any building nobody can attack anyone.
