Step 3 — Build a workshop and craft your first gear
Common recipes work anywhere. The good ones — smelting, gear, meals — need a Personal Workshop on your own land.
Menu ▸ Crafting lists every recipe you know. Each shows what it costs and a Craft button; tap Max to make as many as your materials allow. Crafting takes time and you have to stay put, but closing the window does not stop a run.
Why the workshop comes first
Some recipes only work standing next to a station. The Personal Workshop is the first one: it is where you smelt iron ore into iron, and iron is what a sword, a breastplate and most real gear are made of. The workshop can only be built on land you own — which is why the flag (Step 5) comes before it in the tutorial.

Once crafted, open your bag and tap each piece to equip it. Armor changes cannot be made in the middle of a fight, so gear up beforehand.

Gather the materials, build the workshop on your own land, smelt a little iron, then craft and equip the sword, shield and breastplate.
